FIRST NATIONS STUDENT COUNCIL
- FNSC -
Connecting schools through culture, leadership, and community.
The First Nations Student Council (FNSC) is a powerful community initiative created by Yindyamarra Walkabouts, bringing Mob together to strengthen the spirit of Aboriginal youth, empower them to realise their full potential, and amplify their voices.
This program builds leadership, deepens cultural connections, and inspires youth to become strong leaders within their schools and communities.
Uniting school communities, the FNSC aligns with a shared vision and impact, guiding students to embrace their identity while creating space for non-Indigenous students to engage with Aboriginal culture, history, and contemporary ways of life. It’s a chance to honour the true history of this land, contributing to reconciliation, mutual respect, and understanding.
Once a term, these fully Koori-catered youth corroboree brings together local Elders, AECG members, ACLOs, Cultural Practitioners, and special guests like First Nations NRL players, creating a place for living & learning from those who have walked before us.
These young gatherings, hosted at your school and on Country, strengthen local networks, inspire youth, and create lasting connections, creating a vibrant space for learning, connection, and leadership.

ART & BUSHTUCKER GARDEN
Native Walkabout Gardens are interactive spaces where culture, nature, and learning come together. They highlight the beauty and significance of Australian native plants while encouraging responsibility, knowledge, and ownership among students.
These gardens spark curiosity and engagement by inviting students to connect with nature through touch, taste, and storytelling, providing hands-on learning experiences that link culture to the environment.

These refurbished gardens transform into a walkthrough artwork created in collaboration with students, are encouraged to express creativity and cultural narratives, enriching the learning space.

Each plant holds cultural significance, carrying traditional stories and wisdom. Students are taught & entrusted with responsibility to care for, harvest, and maintain these plants, honouring their deep connection to the land, stories & teachings.

Community Based projects
- WE CARE FOR COUNTRY - COUNTRY CAREs for US -
Yindyamarra Walkabouts walks with purpose with our connection to Country and the land that sustains us.
Our projects are about more than just action—they’re about honouring the Earth and all her inhabitants.
We believe that true respect for Country is about gifting and giving back, creating a world where we can all thrive.
Through planting native trees, cleaning up our beaches and parks, setting up recycling programs, and mending to communities in need, we actively work to heal and protect the land. But it’s more than just about what we do—it’s about the legacy we create for future generations.
We partner with Aboriginal nurseries, botanical gardens, land councils, local youth services, and commercial construction and fit-out companies to bring these projects to life. Together, we’re building something powerful: a future grounded in respect, culture, and community.
Join us in giving back to this place we call home and making it a better, stronger, and more sustainable world for everyone.
